What the charger’s status means
- Available: ready to go. Press Start charging.
- In use: someone else is charging there. Check back shortly, or try another charger.
- Unavailable: the charger has reported that it’s out of service. Try another charger.
- Unreachable: the charger hasn’t checked in with us for more than 3 minutes. This usually means a power or internet problem where the charger is. You can’t charge until it reconnects.
- Unknown: we can’t tell what the charger is doing. Try again in a few minutes.
The Start charging button only works when the status is Available.
Messages when you press Start charging
“Charge point is not available”
The charger isn’t Available. See the statuses above.
“Please wait a minute and try again”
The charger didn’t answer us in time. Give it a minute, then try again.
You already have a session at another charger
You can only charge at one charger at a time. Finish the other session first. You’ll find it on your Sessions page.
You need a payment method
This charger is paid and there’s no valid card on your account. Add a card, then try again. See Paying for charging.
The session expired
You have 2 minutes to plug in after pressing Start charging. If the time runs out, the session expires and nothing is charged. Start a new session and plug in straight away.
Plugged in, but no charge is flowing
- Check your car’s charging settings. If it’s set to scheduled or off-peak charging, it won’t draw power until that time. Switch to charge now.
- Check both ends of the cable are pushed in and locked.
- Check your car isn’t already full or at its own charge limit.
Charging stopped early
A session ends by itself when your car is full or stops drawing power, or when it reaches a time or energy limit you set. If none of those apply, check the session page for a message, then start a new session if you need more charge.
